Education Department, Gujarat
Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel is called as the Father of the All India Services. This is basically because of his contribution towards uniting the princely states and thus ensuring Integrity of India. The Indian civil services encompass all one can aspire for. Civil servants in one way decide the fate of the nation, as the implementation of all developmental and other government policy rest with them. If we talk of prestige and respect, this is the most prestigious and respectful job of India as it is jobs which provides an opportunity for individual growth as well as indulge in social welfare. So far states like Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan Tamil Nadu, Bihar and Delhi has topped the chart by producing maximum number of students. It’s high time when young aspirants from Gujarat state should also make their mark in such prestigious institution. Gujarat has that potential to demonstrate good numbers in producing Indian civil servant. Gujarat University and Jain International Organization together must make their efforts to increase student’s intake capacity from this year itself so that more students aiming to get into Indian civil services can be trained and crack the UPSC exam.
I congratulate Gujarat University for taking up this initiative to inform students about the enormous educational infrastructure and opportunities the state has to offer and become a powerful ally for their future. The institutions of higher studies and universities of Gujarat clearly have an edge with regards to encouraging government policies and programmes, a well-developed education infrastructure, good learning environment and a long list of internationally-recognized alumni. The selection as civil servants is rigorous and only a handful is selected out of hundreds and thousands of aspirants every year. There is diversity of work- a wide variety of work is associated with civil services, like maintenance of law and order, developmental work, disaster management, representing India on international forum, administration, upliftment and empowerment of arginalized sections of society etc.
A remarkable thing about civil services is that it provides opportunity to contribute effectively in the decision making process of country. The talented ones also get to represent the nation at world forums. Aperson who wants to participate closely in the process of building society and wants to bring about positive social change should definitely try to crack UPSC examination.
My warm congratulations and good luck wishes to Gujarat University & Jio International Organization A. D. Shodhan UPSC Coaching Center to substantially contribute great numbers of aspirant in Indian Civil Services.
